Hi my name is David, and despite the rumours, whilst I might be one of the more mature instructors my first driving licence was not in Latin. I’m originally from Bolton in Lancashire, and first started being involved with driver education in the 1970s as an advanced driving observer. I decided to become a full time driving instructor in 1981 and taught in the north Manchester area until the mid 1990s.
I changed careers for a number of years entering financial services as a financial advisor, for which I hold a number of qualifications, and moved to Devon with my then employers in 1998 and stayed in financial services until 2008, and being fed up with being made redundant once too often returned to driving instruction here with Peppers.
I teach mainly new pupils who wish to pass their test, but also do refresher courses for returning drivers, advanced tuition for those who want to improve their standard of driving and assessments for any organisation or profession that requires it for their company vehicles. I am also a qualified classroom tutor so can do driving seminars or one to one for theory test or remedial and other driver training.
To make life easy, I have a mobile payment port, which means you can pay for your lessons with your card during your lesson. Many of my pupils use it and find it very convenient.
A bit about me…
My interests include my main passion which is music, most sports, reading, for which I do voluntary work doing talking books for the blind for the RNIB. I’m married to my lovely wife Pat with a grown up son who is an executive chef in London.
